Neil Shepherd, Dentist
The principal dentist in the practice is Mr Neil Shepherd BDS (UK), GDC registration number 61761.
Born in Arbroath, he qualified as a dental surgeon at Dundee University in 1986. After graduating he began practising in a small dental practice in Dundee in January 1987.
He then moved to work as an associate for a group of three practices in late 1989, splitting his time between two practices in Dundee and one in Arbroath. In 1994 he moved to the Arbroath practice on a permanent basis, becoming a partner in 1995.
In 1999 his ambition of setting up his own practice became a reality and West Port Dental Practice opened in Keptie Street in June 1999.
Miranda MacKay, Dental Nurse
Our dentist is assisted in the surgery by registered dental nurse Miranda MacKay, GDC registration number 138504.
Miranda joined the practice in 2019 and has many years experience as a dental nurse.
Louise Ellery, Dental Hygienist
Louise Ellery (GDC registration number 5981) studied at Dundee University and gained the qualification Dip Dent Hygiene RCS Edin 2001. She joined our practice on the 1st of June 2015.
Lana Shepherd, Practice Manager
Lana Shepherd has a BA in Accounting and has been with the practice since 1999 in her dual role as receptionist and practice manager.
Lana is also a member of ADAM (Association of Dental Administrators and Managers) and works hard to ensure that the Practice's policies are kept up to date for the BDA Good Practice Scheme.
